Vote Luke Robinson for Pet Person of the Year!

This just in from the 2Dogs2000Miles camp ...

Luke Robinson was recently named one of the Top 10 "Not So Ordinary" Pet People by Zootoo.com. Read the article here.

Zootoo is conducting a contest where the person with the most votes will be named the ZooToo Pet Person of the year. Would you please take the time to vote for Luke, Hudson and Murphy? Voting ends on Feb. 10, 2009 so vote now and tell a friend!

You do not have to sign up to become a member of Zootoo in order to vote for Luke and the boys, however if you decide to become a member please consider naming the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society as your shelter. ZooToo is having a Million Dollar Makeover contest and the shelter with the most points wins. By naming the Bowling Green HS as your shelter they will receive additional points.

Luke was recently in Bowling Green and the Humane Society there took very good care of him and the boys. There were a couple of days that the "boys" were stuck out in bad weather and the Executive Director of Humane Society either sent a staff member or a volunteer to pick them up and take them to a nice warm place to stay.

If you are a ZooToo member, be sure to become friends with 2Dogs2000miles and Tripawds!

Thank you for your support.

Yer Big Dog makes Jerry a TV star!

This just in from our friends over at tripawds.com ...

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Yer Big Dog for sending the folks at Nature – the PBS series – our way, back in March of last year. When they contacted him about a TV show in the works, he mentioned how we traveled the U.S. with our three-legged canine cancer hero Jerry, after selling our home and business when he got sick.

Well, the Nature crew hooked up with us at Jerry's first oncology vet visit in Santa Fe to film the incredible bond we shared with our furry soul mate. At the time, we signed a Non Disclosure Agreement so we couldn't talk about it. Now it's official:

We are excited to announce the upcoming premiere of NATURE’s WHY WE LOVE CATS AND DOGS airing nationally on PBS Sunday, February 15th at 8PM (check local listings) NATURE is produced by THIRTEEN in association with WNET.ORG for PBS.

With the amazing trek Luke and the Boys have undertaken, we always wondered ... why us? But Jerry is just one of a number of pets whose owners were interviewed for the program which focuses on animal behavior experts answering the question of why we love our animal friends so much.

Thank you Big Dog, we know Jerry is walking with you in Spirit, and we continue to wear our Puppy Up! wristbands and tell everyone who asks about your passion to find the cause of cancer. Keep up the good work.

Pictures From The Road

Luke has been taking some great pictures from the road and uploading them through Twitter. These are some he's taken recently while on the road in Kentucky. Enjoy!

The first is a photo-op of Hudson and Murphy -- notice they just happened to stop outside a BBQ restaurant. Coincidence?

The next two pictures were taken when Luke and the Boys were sitting out some bad weather just after the new year. Thanks to the generosity of our friend Susan Benedict, Professor of Nursing at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, Luke and the Boys were treated to four nights in a hotel room while they were in Bowling Green. Susan lost her heart dog, Jonah Bear, to bone cancer before his 5th birthday, 5 years ago, and in honor of his memory she graciously provided a Red Roof over The Boys’ heads for four nights. Susan currently has two Pyrs, Lily Bear and Bailey. We’d like to thank her for her generosity and wish her well on her upcoming year in Botswana. I have invited her to write a bit about herself, her dogs, and her upcoming journey for the blog and hopefully she’ll be able to find time to send me something before she goes. She’s leaving mid-January and we wish her a smooth trip and safe stay!

The fourth picture is of a little girl named Olivia who insisted the Boys were "Bubbas." "I want to see the Bubbas!" she insisted. Her delight in meeting The Boys is evident.

Finally, the last shot is of Hudson as "The cow whisperer."
